About this product

Product Information

One of the bestselling books of the 21st century with over 6 million copies sold. Don't miss the conclusion to The Tattooist of Auschwitz Trilogy, Three Sisters. Available now. I tattooed a number on her arm. She tattooed her name on my heart. In 1942, Lale Sokolov arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau. He was given the job of tattooing the prisoners marked for survival - scratching numbers into his fellow victims' arms in indelible ink to create what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust. Waiting in line to be tattooed, terrified and shaking, was a young girl. For Lale - a dandy, a jack-the-lad, a bit of a chancer - it was love at first sight. And he was determined not only to survive himself, but to ensure this woman, Gita, did, too. So begins one of the most life-affirming, courageous, unforgettable and human stories of the Holocaust: the love story of the tattooist of Auschwitz. Discover Cilka's Journey, the incredible bestselling sequel to The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Out now. ----- 'Extraordinary - moving, confronting and uplifting . . . I recommend it unreservedly' Greame Simsion 'A moving and ultimately uplifting story of love, loyalties and friendship amidst the horrors of war . . . It's a triumph.' Jill Mansell

    Amazing story

This book was such a compelling story. Couldn't believe a love story could be set in such a horrendous place.

    Can't get it!

Wish I could revue this and the Ishiguro book I ordered at the same time. Was informed they would be coming on 11th March, I ordered these on t 5th March They didn;t arrive, so how can I review them??? Tried to get to to cancel them, unsuccessfully = Probably my fault, but doesn't make contact easy. As I couldn't get through to you, I have now tried cancelling my order with PayPal This is unfortunate, as I was looking forward to many years of reading How can we resolve this pease? b.lewis

  • Good image provoking life story

Heather Morris has captured Lale's Life experience very well. I have visited Auschwitz and was able to imagine the wooden rakes for beds et. I also liked the fact that Heather included photos and evidence at the back of the book. It was also interesting that Heather included Cilka's as you are left wondering what happened to her.

  • Understanding why.

I found this compelling reading.Ive wondered for a long time what was done to the Jews.I find it all beyond human comprehension that one man wanted all of them eradicated and then to get all his henchmen to do his bidding.Reading this novel shows just what lengths they would go to.What I find the hardest is that doctors took part in these murders.
