Given its age the surface staining is minimal and should dissappear during the finishing process, so I fully expect to be able to use a clear finish as per the original Dan Armstrongs. I can recommend buying with confidence.

Sent the type I was after. Dan Armstrong guitars page suggests it is Honduran rather than Brazilian but it's the same tree and quality so same difference.

You need to be prepared to put the work in to make a viable instrument from a body blank that has yet to be fully shaped, contoured, and routed. This is to be expected.
