In der Theologie des Tempels von Esna, von dem in erster Linie der in romischer Zeit errichtete und dekorierte Pronaos erhalten ist, tritt neben dem Gott Chnum auch die Gottin Neith prominent hervor, beide werden als Schopfergottheit verehrt. Neith schutzt mit ihren Attributen - Pfeil und Bogen - den kindlichen Sonnengott seit dem Uranfang und ubt diese Funktion in der Folge fur Gotter, Konige und Menschen aus. Pfeil und Bogen nehmen in den Inschriften und Darstellungen dieses Tempels deshalb eine besondere Stellung ein, so unter anderem in dem Ritualszenentypus "Pfeil und Bogen darreichen" sowie im Ablauf der Rituale, die wahrend des Festes am 13. Epiphi - dem fur Neith zentralen Fest in Esna - durchzufuhren waren. Nach einleitenden kursorischen Uberblicken zur Verwendungsweise von Pfeil und Bogen im pharaonischen Agypten sowie in der agyptischen Religion folgt mit den Texten aus Esna, die ubersetzt und eingehend kommentiert werden, der Schwerpunkt des Buches. Hinzu kommt eine Analyse ihrer Einbindung in die raumubergreifende Dekorationssystematik des Pronaos. Im Ergebnis lasst sich eingehend nachvollziehen, wie Pfeil und Bogen als Attribute wie auch als Kultobjekte der Neith in Esna verstanden wurden.

The seller is one of the best there is - high quality books, reasonable prices, securely packaged.
I do, however, recommend some changes to their shipping - they show a shipper (SortHub) on eBay, but the tracking # they email is for a different carrier. It’s difficult to know where my purchase is.
This time, it was delivered a week late. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal. But it shouldn’t be this difficult to accurately track my purchase.
