Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Video/VCRs
I worked on VCR's and many other Products at Panasonic's Western HQ in Cypress California for 12 years, before starting "Alan's VCR Clinic" in Libby Montana. Because of the conspiracy between the major electronic companies in Japan, most of the major parts needed to repair VCR's and other products, were recalled by the manufactures from the vendors. Upper Cylinders (where the video and HiFi heads are mounted)used to cost me as little as $10, now coast me $100, making the repair costs too high. They did this to improve sales on .DVD players and recorders. Some people think that DVD's are better than VCR's. I disagree. If DVD's/CD's were so much better than Tape Recorders, why would Nuclear Submarines use Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorders instead of DVD's or CD's? One of the reasons is the fact that Digital Chips leave out a lot of analogs information because there are thousands of different shades of gray. Hence DVD copies of old Black and White movies...well...suck. VCR's do a much better job of copying old B & W movies because they don't leave any information out. You can tell in a second when a B & W movie on TV is being played by a DVD...it sucks. So any VCR, especially a Super-VHS VCR is better than any DVD recorder. This Panasonic PV-S7670 is just fine for making masters, but I only bought it because I already had a customer who also had the REMOTE for this Model. I don't buy VCR's on eBay or anywhere else, unless they have the original remote. Universal Remotes suck. That is why I fix remotes, even if the dog chewed it up. The one feature that is most important for those who edit is the flying erase head. The only reason I rated this review "Average" is due to the fact that the remote wasn't included. Also S-VHS has about 440 lines ( about the same as a DVD )and a regular VCR only has about 230 lines. Broadcast resolution only used 330 lines which is why many TV stations started using S-VHS camcorders instead of the bulky U-Matic format cameras.Read full review

I am using it to transfer my old SVHS videos to digital. I am very happy with the performance for that. I have not tried to record or anything, but that isn't what I bought it for anyway.
