Product apparently works as advertised. Easy to retrofit to the housing for older versions of the same model (this is what we needed to do). Would encourage regular testing according to the manufacturers instructions especially if buying such an item from Ebay (which is at own risk) and also a clear escape route/plan is a must for the alarm to be able to help you.

Installation very simple as replacing another model in the Aico Ei160 series. Base stays on the ceiling, old alarm slips off and new one slips on. No need for an electrician. There is a YouTube video showing how to do it.

Everything all as new, the only thing is that the recommended change out date is 2029 instead of the 10 years (2030) that you would normally get with items purchased from a wholesaler. But the savings well outweigh the one year lifespan! Well worth the money.

didnt actualy buy one in the end but when i could prove to AIco that the sensor hadnt been contaminated with dust by cleaning with strong hoover the replaced it as the expiry date was 2028 and it was 5 years old which i thought was good !
