About this product

Product Information

Are the Seven Wonders really as wondrous as everybody says? Karl Pilkington doesn't think so, but then Karl is no Michael Palin. He hates travelling and prefers throwing sand at crabs or, at a push, eating English food in Spain. In his mind, Pisa is 'badly built . . . it's a hazard', the Pyramids have 'a crap design . all the space at the bottom and nowt at the top' and the Taj Mahal 'is probably shit at the back'. Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant are outraged, goading Karl to broaden his mind and visit each of these famous sites for himself. Will a close encounter with Christ the Redeemer in Brazil or a trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu be enough to change their friend? For Ricky and Steve it is a genuine social experiment. The book is a rich, fact-filled and hilarious travelogue, written with all of Karl's unusual observational skill and counter-intuitive logic that the millions of Ricky Gervais podcast fans have learnt to love.

Book is in excellent condition - basically brand new - and was described as good, so I’m very pleased! Much better experience than with WorldOfBooks. Fast dispatch, fair price, and sent carefully packaged. If I sound overly impressed, I am! Look forward to using again in the future and hope to be as happy then! Highly recommended.

  • You can't read this without laughing out loud - best read in private :)

Excellent book, really funny but also gives information about the places visited. Loved it! I bought it because I used to live in Egypt and someone had recorded the episode where he visited Cairo and I've watched it so many times. The book is great, you can just imagine Karl talking as you read it. I should imagine it's unique - no-one else could match Karl's drollness or stupidity :)

  • A truly exciting, funny outlook on his wonderful travels.

This book is full of Carl's adventures, his wit and funny little quirks that he has, he describes the people he's met. There's lots of pictures and full of information regarding the countries and the people he has seen. A well written book, it's just as funny as the programme, if not more. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves carl and his adventures.

  • Great book that accompanies the series.A must for any Karl pilkington fan

Make sure you read this when you're on your own! Otherwise you'll embarass yourself giggling and grinning infront of strangers,as I did! The perfect read to lift your spirits,Karls view on life will keep you captured all the way through. A hard book to put down! A+++++++++

  • A joy to read

You would need to have watched the series, televised on Sky 1, to really appreciate the style of humour. Wonderfully written.
