The year is 2019. Earth is under attack by an alien armada whose ships have decimated London, Los Angeles, and other key cities. As one of the planet's last remaining hopes, you must pilot an advanced F-177 assault craft and defeat the aliens across ten levels of 3D terrain inspired by such real-world locales as Egypt and the Congo. The combat is viewed from a first-person perspective inside the cockpit, with video cut-scenes updating you on the war effort. Each vessel comes equipped with thrusters, lasers, and missiles, as players attempt to destroy an assortment of targets while flying across valleys, between buildings, around mountains, and other objects. Over 20 minutes of full-motion video was specifically recorded for the game, and the cinematic presentation includes digitized speech and CD-quality sound effects in Dolby Surround Sound.

Fun, but tough, 32 bit gem
Shockwave is the first great 3d game of the 32 bit era. This game showed what could be done with 32 bits of power. Capable of inducing nausea from the fast 3d game play, this game was tough but hard to put down. EA came out with an expansion pack for this game as well as an awesome sequel but this started it all. This is a pretty common game but if you have a 3do and like flight games, this and its sequel are must haves.Shockwave is the first great 3d game of the 32 bit era. this game was the first to have such user interaction, and even though the system is only a 32bit system, the creaters of this game used everyone of those those. So the visuals on this game rival the visuals of the game systems of today!!!!
