Really good story excellent all round. Rewatchable timeless tale of sword and sorcery. Excellently done it is a shame the director had to alter the story and not stick to the book. Otherwise top class.

This is the final of the trilogy of films made by Peter Jackson that are adapted from the original books by J.R.R. Tolkien. This is the special edition with some extra footage that does not stick out like a sore thumb. It is divided onto two discs with another two discs of extras. It is rare that a sequel of a sequel can keep momentum and depth, this does manage to do that. All the characters are kept with care and the new fit into the story which has been building to a final. There is a lot of battling in this compared to the first two and there are a few short cuts, however the story remains one that rings true as with the first two. It is a good thing that this does not fall into the traps of easy lazy story telling and it has an unusual affection for the characters. Huh! dislike it? you must be kidding.... Well, my father in law dislikes it and he has never read the LOTR or for that matter any fantasy (i.e. he just reads non-fiction)..and he's a writer!!! Haw! I really annot imagine anyone who lasts through this film (and book) seeing the issue of fantasy as foremost to the story... A true masterpiece that trandscends humanity and reaches out and touches God..Moses, your'e not alone anymore...Huh! dislike it? you must be kidding....
