I bought this after watching an episode of The Little Paris Kitchen on the Cooking Channel. Rachel Khoo, who studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris takes basic French cooking, and makes it easy for the average cook. Aside from a few ingredients, everything is available locally. I did have to special order 1 cheese. After the main part of the book, she gives recipes for the most common French sauces, which I appreciate. The book includes "120 Simple but Classic recipes. In some cases she gives the basic recipe, then gives her special version of the same thing. Everything I have cooked from this cookbook has been excellent. I highly recommend it. I will be buying her other books as soon as I can.
