A fascinating glimpse of aviation history!
I found this a fascinating DVD on first viewing, and will definitely be watching it again in the near future. Made with great enthusiasm by a local presenter it was nice hearing the Bristol accents of the locals! Although made some 20 years ago, to catch the 50th anniversary, the timing was spot on as it caught many of the people who contributed to the development and testing of the Brabazon, including a modest and matter-of-fact test pilot, Bill Pegg. As well as showing Filton as it was back then, it also shows footage of the planning, building, and ultimately the flying of the mighty Brabazon. With all that research and development, and hours of air tests, it is such a shame that although it flew and handled beautifully, it was already surplus to requirements, and was broken up and ... I found this a fascinating DVD on first viewing, and will definitely be watching it again in the near future.
