Batman Vengeance (Playstation 2) This is a very cool game with lots of good aspects: the different Batgadgets at your disposal, the combination of first-person & third-person views, the variety of levels and bad guys, the variety of game play including driving the Batmobile, flying the Batwing, freefall Batman, puzzles, and detective work. The one major thing I don't like is you cannot control the camera. You should be able to do so with the right analog joystick, but the makers of the game assigned nothing to that joystick. Instead you have to rely on gameplay to turn the camera for you. However, most of the time you can "reset" the camera to return behind you but there are times when this doesn't work (like in a certain room where you only have one view). This leads to another poor quality of the game: not being able to explore beyond the intended storyline and direction each level wants to take you. But overall this game is really fun! It even incorporates in-game cheats depending on how much you find/unlock. And the 3D cinematics are pretty awesome! Now I need to buy Batman: The Animated Series on DVD.Read full review
My little boy is 9, and he loves to "get the bad guys!" So, he'll put Batman in, put his cape on and it's like magic, you have a little boy who has problems with a lot of things actually scoring big! The higher level he goes to, the better he feels about himself!! My little boy has ADHD, and he's never tried much. He's always had a low self esteem. We try to boost him up, but it's amazing to watch what a little game or just singing a song for the Lord can do for him! He's a great singer, and he really tries at it! He's really good on the computer, playstation 2, and singing. I keep telling him to keep trying and hanging in there! Batman would NEVER give up!
Good game. The fact that they tried to base it off the animated series, and used the voices from the tv series, was a plus. The first person mode is kind of sketchy and hard to use, and the combat system isn't as good as in Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu, but the level design and the game as a whole give you a good feel for being Batman.
i loved this game when it first came out and totally forgot to buy it (had rented it) very glad i have it now. graphics are still ok for a game this old. really wish they would make another Animated style Bat gaem this time for the 360!
I really like the Justice League styling of the characters. Gameplay is good with lots of freedom to explore environments. Much of the game follows Batman from a behind the back perspective, but this changes as the camera follows. Very definitely captured the look and feel of the Timmiverse Batman!
