L'huile de pourghere peut etre utilisee directement apres extraction (c'est-a-dire sans raffinage) dans les generateurs et les moteurs diesel. L'huile de jatropha peut etre utilisee directement apres extraction (c'est-a-dire sans raffinage) dans les generateurs et les moteurs diesel. Elle a le potentiel de fournir des avantages economiques au niveau local car, sous une gestion appropriee, elle peut pousser sur des terres non agricoles marginales et seches, permettant ainsi aux villageois et aux agriculteurs d'exploiter des terres non agricoles pour generer des revenus.
