Jacob, a struggling private investigator, attempted to keep his childhood nightmares from destroying his life. And then one day, the wife of the Police Lieutenant comes calling. She strongly suggests, more demanding than asking, him to take on her case of investigating her husband as she suspects infidelity. Vandalism, double homicides, and kidnappings all mix to intrude and bring the forces together on Jacob's fragile life. He faces an evil even worse than his childhood nightmares. Will the monsters ever release their hold on him? Will he lose everyone he has come to love before it is over? And what of himself?
