Dieser biografische Roman beschreibt aus der Sicht der heutigen Ich-Erzählerin die Entstehung von Traumata und der Weitergabe der daraus resultierenden Muster anhand der eigenen Familiengeschichte ab Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts bis in die Neuzeit, ohne das Schlüsselwort Trauma explizit zu nennen. Die Lebensgeschichten werden chronologisch erzählt, der Begriff der Traumatisierung findet erst im zweiten Teil, der das Leben der Erzählerin schildert, Raum.Anhand dieser Familiengeschichte über drei bis vier Generationen spielend im Ruhrgebiet und Unterfranken wird eine Grundsituation der heute 50 - 60 jährigen verdeutlicht, die in ihrem Ausmaß gesellschaftlich noch nicht begriffen scheint.
