    There are better implementations

    This come along does pull nicely once setup, however it has serious flaws: 1) The mechanical advantage is about 22:1 so to pull 8000lbs you would have to be able to pull on the handle with a force of 365lbs. Most of us cannot do that! 2) It takes 4 hands to setup. One hand each for: releasing catch ratchet, releasing cranking ratchet, braking cable unspooling so cable is not tangled and blowing out every direction and pulling the cable out. 3) There is nowhere on the come along to clip the cable end hook making setup where the pulleyed hook is connected to load 4) The overall implementation appears to be rather fragile. Normal handling has the potential to damage structure and result in failure and 5) The most serious is all operations except for cable retrieval mode, pose situations ...
