    I did not buy this model, but the THR10X

    I did not buy from e bay this model, as it was a scrapped product. I bought the THR10X, which has Amazing sound. It is like a miracle from something so small to have that sound quality, volume, and it is so small... I recommend it 100%. Personaly I say to my friends, why the other types for practice are still existent? There is no comparison! About THR5 I obly watched videos, but generally I would say that this Yamaha kind of amps is really great, and I assume that THR5 is a value/money product.

    A fine acoustic practice amp

    This is a great little practice amp that would serve well as a preamp for stage work and especially for recording. It is very compact and the retro styling is attractive in my view. Controls are pretty self explanatory and all work well (eg the tone knob is pretty linear in its response and the difference in sound is significant but not extreme.) The mic models work well and are very musical, fx are also very useable. The amp itself has a very low noise level and the USB connection is a bonus. Limitations? Well it's not hall-fillingly loud (but then it doesn't noticeably distort either) but for its size and price it sounds do the job of acoustic guitar amplification admirably.

    A LITTLE GEM

    This little amp maybe small in size but it’s a real power house of a practice amp. Yamaha build also makes it so sturdy and reliable. Bought it for my Yamaha silent guitars, both the steel string and Nylon strings sound fantastic through it. I play more than ever now because it sounds so good that it makes you want to play.
