    SOUTH DAKOTA HAS A DYNAMIC HISTORY!

    South Dakota has a dynamic history, one that affects the entire nation. It's a center of the homesteading cavalcade and a site of immigrant settlements everywhere. I knew the author at the University of South Dakota, where he served as chair of Theater, English, and Fine Arts over the course of his career there. I went to Germany and what was then Czechoslovakia on a student tour with his daughter in 1976. I bought this book to compare it to that written by Herbert S. Schell, which was used as a text in sixth grade and also at as an upper division course in history at USD.
