A return to Classic Hollywood Days
An amazing fantasy film in the tradition of old Hollywood. The soundtrack won another Grammy for
Italian Ennio Morricone...but was overlooked in other awards categories. The story is a fantasy of a baby born on an ocean liner, raised by the crew, he becomes the major talent on board...and when yet never ever leaves the ship...and when time comes to send the liner off to the scrap heap, he elects to go down with the ship. The whole film has an amazing melancholy about it...and is one that will come back to you in thought again and again. I've seen it for the third time...bought the soundtrack...and bought YoYoMa's recording of the music from the film as interpreted on his amazing cello. I can't recommend this film enough...it's going to take you back to the good old days of Hollywood and remain with you long after...
