Boost your immune system and improve cardiovascular, joint, and skin health with Solgar Omega-3 triple strength soft gels. These are dietary supplements that contain fatty acids from cold-water fish. There are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids in fish that are high in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acids (EPA), such as bluefish, mackerel, herring, salmon, sardines, sturgeon, anchovies, lake trout, and tuna. Solgar only uses wild sardine, mackerel, and anchovy, which have a higher omega-3 count than farm-raised fish. Each serving size or one 950 milligram soft gel contains 504 milligrams of EPA and 378 milligrams of DHA. The triple-strength 950 milligram soft gels have the strongest concentration of natural polyunsaturated omega-3s from cold-water fish that Solgar offers over-the-counter. Several studies show the health benefits of fish oil. The good fatty acids reduce symptoms in various conditions, such as asthma, depression, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. This is why the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the American Heart Association all recommend eating two 8-ounce servings of fish per week. In general, fish are low in saturated fat and high in vitamins, minerals, and proteins. However, not everyone enjoys the taste, has access to clean quality fish, or the time to prepare a meal with salmon or a tuna steak twice a week. Also, some fish that’s high in EPA and DHA contains mercury and other contaminants. There’s no need to worry about mercury in the mackerel, bluefish, and tuna with supplements. Solgar uses a molecular distillation process to remove mercury and other harmful contaminants by steaming out the oil and using a low-temperature to remove heavy metals from the oil before they mix with the fish oils. You can find EPA outside of fish oil. There are EPA fatty acids in shellfish, nut oils, flaxseed algae oils, and fortified foods. The plant and nut oils are polyunsaturated omega-3s. These sources don’t include DHA. Instead, they have short-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is beneficial, but they are much less potent than other good fatty acids. Along with the other health advantages, Solgar Omega-3 Triple Strength soft gels aren’t complex medicines. They don’t contain wheat, gluten, dairy, sugar, sodium, artificial flavors, or preservatives. These soft gel supplements only contain a total of 15 calories and 5 milligrams of cholesterol. In combination with regular medicines, Solgar Omega-3 soft gels can help reduce inflammation and improve cognitive functions. Always speak with a doctor before beginning or starting an omega-3 fish oil regiment. Never replace prescriptions with supplements or vitamins unless your doctor directs you to do so.
