I pinched off the worst of the leaves, and inspected carefully to make sure there were no live aphids, but it is obvious that this tree was very recently, and very seriously, infested with aphids, most leaves with aphid leavings, curled up, discolored and chewed on. I am optomistic, as there are some signs of new, healthy growth.
