Reviews
Praise for the author: "At once a thrilling novel and a call to action against climate change...This novel is wildly entertaining...The tension and violence are as aggressive as a revving engine here, but Lebbon's timely message -- that hurting our planet is hurting ourselves -- is just as loud." New York Times "[I]f you're after a tight, exciting thriller with ecological themes and a dash of early episodes of X-Files, it's appropriately chilly for the winter." SFX "A nail-biting scientific thriller worthy of Michael Crichton. Readers will be wowed." Publishers Weekly "A chilling, white-knuckled thriller of a novel, Among the Living gives us a peek into the not-too-distant future, and Lebbon scares us to the ice-cold core of our souls with his dark, dire, and delightful prose. This one kept me up at night." Ronald Malfi, author of Come With Me "Let me tell you, if the words 'intelligent disease' don't send a chill up your spine, well then Tim Lebbon's got about eighty thousand more words where that came from and they will absolutely pulverize every last vertebra you've got." Clay McLeod Chapman, author of Ghost Eaters and What Kind of Mother "Tim Lebbon is the absolute king of modern climate-change eco-horror. Fans of EDEN will adore this one, set on an island in the Arctic Circle, where something lurks in caves underneath the permafrost. Explosions! Body horror! A doomed ship! MONSTERS" Ally Wilkes, author of All the White Spaces "The closest thing to an actual nightmare I've encountered on the page in a very long time. Among the Living is doom-laden, frantic, desperation horror of the highest order, filled with the most what-the-f**k twists you'll read all year. Lebbon is a master." Christopher Golden, New York Times bestselling author of Road of Bones and All Hallows "Tim Lebbon is a master of weird fiction! Among the Living is a riot of body horror, desperation, wild action, and totally relatable characters. Bloody brilliant!" Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Cave 13 and Empty Graves

Synopsis
When an old friend is attacked, Conan the Barbarian, now King of Aquilonia, picks up his sword again in search of vengeance. However, mysterious enemies assail the Cimmerian in this action-packed tale. KING CONAN When Conan of Cimmeria was a prisoner of war on the verge of death, he made a promise to a fellow prisoner, Baht Tann. Conan would grant a favor, wherever and whenever Tann called it in, in return for Tann's meagre water ration. The men escaped, parted ways, and the rest is history. After a life filled with violence and tumult, Conan met his destiny and became King of Aquilonia. Married with a child and presiding over a period of peace and stability, the legendary barbarian's sword has been sheathed for too long. When Baht Tann arrives in Aquilonia, he is wounded, his wife has been murdered, and his two children kidnapped. He asks Conan to save his children and avenge his wife. It will be a perilous journey, chasing men with no honor. Conan leaves without hesitation. Disguised as a scruffy wanderer and armed with a broadsword, Conan ventures into hostile lands in pursuit of Tann's assailants. He is soon beset by assassins and learns there is a price on his head. Unknown to Conan, for reasons of honor, revenge and glory, powerful warriors want him dead. Violence and vengeance ensue as Conan takes on his mysterious foes and attempts to fulfil his promise.

The book I bought was reasonably priced and when it arrived it was in the 'Like New' condition specified in the listing. However, when I saw that the seller had not shipped the book after more than 15 days had passed since my order I felt I must write to say that I had actually placed an order with the seller and inquire when it planned to send the book. The brusque reply was that a tracking number was available, but no number HAD been created until I pointed out that I had placed the order.
