    I use one of these to record minidiscs digitally

    I use one of these to record minidiscs digitally (via toslink) from my msi gs66 stealth laptop (Flac files) going in to my Sony JB930QS minidisc recorder, the sound is pristine with zero noise, theres absolutely no need to buy a mega expensive usb soundcard as these are 100% fit for their purpose But before you do anything throw the driver disc that it comes with in the bin, its the incorrect driver, if you want to use multichannel or the SPDIF out then you need the proper multichannel cm6206 driver

    Value for money.

    For the money can't fault it. Sound quality on a par with internal soundblaster card I used previously. Only using it for 2.1 so can't comment on 5.1 playback. Windows 11 gave basic plug and play straight away but I needed to install the supplied drivers to get sound on a couple of fairly old programmes. Ideal for using with refurbished business computers if you already have speakers..

    replace the (free) USB lead & you'll be fine

    the device works absolutely fine now i replaced the (free) USB lead that came with it & was responsible for an annoying clicking sound overlaid on the sound output. with the lead from an old play station pad in use the audio is clean, low noise
