    • Most favourable review

Compelling. Didn’t want to put it down. However, shows its age in some parts but only to be expected.

Lee Child is an excellent writer. I started the book in a holiday cottage and didn’t finish it so I had to buy the book to read the second half! Well worth it.

    • A riveting read, a job to put down.

This is the second "Jack Reacher" novel. Although they CAN be read in any order, it IS best to read them in sequence. While in Chicago, former military police Major, Jack Reacher is helping a young woman with an injured leg with her dry cleaning when they're captured at gunpoint by three men and thrown into a car. Soon after, they're transferred into a van and driven cross country. On the way, Reacher learns the woman is an FBI agent named Holly Johnson (although she doesn't tell him she's the daughter of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff nor goddaughter of the President). Eventually, they escape, but - as always with Lee Childs' novels - there are many twists & turns along the way.

    • A Definite Page Turner

This is the second of the Jack Reacher series that I have read and the storytelling is superb. Very often in these fast moving, tense thriller type books it is easy to forget characters etc., but Lee Child has the ability to keep the reader fully informed and involved in the story. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who likes a good well thought out yarn. Just one aside in Jack Reacher's CV his height is given at 6'5" why they got Tom Cruise to play him in the film version, God Only Knows ????

    • Great reading

Thoroughly enjoy reading 'Jack Reacher' by Lee Child. Although you don't need to read them in time order, I would recommend it. Just helps to understand his 'time life' from being a 'Major' in the Military police, to being a drifter traveling USA on his own terms.
