This is a good dual-band ADSL router for those who know how to set one up. Do change the wireless pass key as the default keys are easy to crack with free phone apps. The features I like are: the ability to schedule on and off times; the ability to block certain devices at particular times (so kids can't browse the internet at night!); the parental controls, which are okay at blocking some sites, but testing them to destruction I was able to fool it into revealing search engine image results that you would not want your kids looking at. I installed K-9 protection on the computer as an additional security; the ability to add an extra layer of security so that only authorised devices can access your network; the ability to turn the guest wireless network on and off; the ability to plug external hard drives (or pen drives) into the USB ports for sharing files on the network.. Some of these features are not for the inexperienced user. You do need to know about MAC addresses and IP addresses. Just very occasionally there is a glitch and we lose internet connection. A simple power down and restart fixes that. The one I received had the wrong cable to connect the to the ADSL filter. The cable supplies was a simple LAN cable and although this plugs into the modem. (The actual modem is in the power supply not the wireless router.) A different plug is required to fit into an ADSL filter and the correct cable was not supplied. If you have the same problem you will need to buy an RJ11 to RJ45 cable. These are available for less than £2 on Ebay. This is a dual band modem, which means there are two separate wi-fi signals on two different frequencies 2.4 and 5 GHz. Nearly all of our devices can pick up either of these. As with all dual band, 5 Ghz is faster, so good for streaming, but not as good at passing the signal through walls, floors and doors.Read full review

Not really able to review as I can't get it to work, set up CD doesn't run properly therefore unable to get it connected. Not sure if this is a problem with this product or with my rather antiquated laptop so am prepared to hold on to it for when I can replace the laptop.

This is a router with built in modem, plugs into your phoneline. I bought this to replace a crappy Sky Netgear router. Took some research on how to find the Sky router password and username, not the same as the one to log into your router BTW. But once obtained simply pop in the cd and let it do it's thing, then when prompted enter the U/N and P/W and you'll be connected in no time. It's definitely improved my broadband connection.
