Genuine Smeg - for better or for worse
I've given it a positive review as it is a genuine Smeg spare at a very good price. But having said that, the last one I bought - also a genuine Smeg item (from the official Smeg distributor, and much more expensive) - only lasted about 3 years, as did the original one fitted to the oven, so I'm not altogether happy with the quality of Smeg products. But that's not the fault of the seller, so I'm happy to provide positive feedback.I've given it a positive review as it is a genuine Smeg spare at a very good price. Great item and super easy
Well my oven broke over Xmas so I started looking around for a 2nd hand one. That’s when I found this heating element and researched how to change it. Wasn’t 100% sure this would fix it but for the price, I thought it was worth a go. A lot of elements you can change from inside the oven but with this one you need to remove the oven and the back cover to gain access as it has fixing bolts rather than screws so need to get to the nuts round the back. You’ll need to use the nuts already on your oven as this element doesn’t include them. Don’t forget also to remove the thick washers from your old element and place on the new (I did this and didn’t realise until it was all back in. Had to go back and do it all again) If you forget the washers, the element will be very loose inside the oven. ... Well my oven broke over Xmas so I started looking around for a 2nd hand one. Identical to the OEM, was a 5 minute fix on mine.
Identical to the OEM, was a 5 minute fix on mine. Unplug appliance. Take off element cover, 2 phililps screws. Take off retaining screws for the element. Pull out of the machine carefully, remove the 2x cables from the spade connectors, refit is the reverse of removal. Quality is great, im very happy, and saved me about £30 on the genuine one
