About this product

Product Information

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the invading soul who has been given Melanie s body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer s thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body s desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she s never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

  • Great idea, well written but far too slow for half of the book.

The general idea behind this story is amazingly clever. It actually was a great story but it did take a long time to get into it. The beginning dragged rather more than was acceptable but once the idea came to a head it held my interest and made me want to keep reading. I actually came out of the end feeling that I had read a great story. My daughters and my grand daughters hated it enough not to finish it, I have to say in all honesty.

  • Truly incredible.

It is most certainly the best book I have ever read (06/2020). I cannot recommend it enough. Truly incredible.

this book is brilliant. i was told by a friend to read it, and when she mentioned alians i thort it wasnt relly my thing, but it turned out to be really well written and not how i thort it would be at all. takes a while to get into, and its a little confusing at the start. cant wait for the film to come out ext year. another great read by stephenie meyer

  • A story to take with you.

It's an amazing books. I borrowed it at the library in 2008, and when the day came that I had to return it I felt like I was giving up a piece of myself! And ever since that day I've had my own copy attacked to my hip. I have two copies of the book. And this las one (being my second) was AWESOME because there was an additional chapter (*GASP*) with S. Meyer sort of giving and explaining to us her 'playlist' for the book, which was a lot of fun to read....and also, turns out we have a lot of music in common. I liked this very much because of the the addition chapter (it was a very nice bonus), and also this book is really something else. When you read the last page you're left wondering about stuff, but also thinking and appreciating a lot of stuff (mainly life) around you. If you're ...
