I hope you will understand my english because I am not american or english. I bought the saxophone because I am a baritone player and a great fan of Gerry Mulligan. I am using also a Selmer SA80, but it is the complete opposite of the 12M Chu Berry. The sound is incredible, full, always present, very dynamic in all the range, from the Bb to high F. The feeling is soon reached bacause the hands position is natural, the fingers are there on the pearls. You can easily blow in it and the sound is coming very easy. It is the miracle of some old brass made instruments. The only strange parts is the "left spatula", that is difficult if you usde a Selmer for a long time; it keeps a little time to use it normal. The intonation is always perfect also if I play the saxophone using a Berg Larsen metal mouthpiece 110/2. It is quite incredible that this saxophone with an old idea of mechanics is working fine and the sound is beatifull. Also playng note from 1st to 2nd octave, or jump of 4th-5th the sound never stops or broken. My Selmer somethimes has a problem to play this kind of music staf. I can say the saxophone was perfectly restored and it is working very well. I think was a nice present for myself. What else: it is simply perfect for me.Read full review
