Great 50s Sci-fi Classic
This is probably my favourite 50s sci-fi film; great story that builds the tension to an exciting climax. Armageddon and Deep Impact were clearly influenced by it.

I don't mind science fiction being far-fetched, but it has to make some sort of sense within it's own logic - this doesn't - it's utterly preposterous. Even so, a few special effects, primitive though they were in the 60's, would have helped - there weren't any - sad and pathetic. Brilliant no doubt in it's day but not now !!!
Couldn't believe I was watching this! the special effects must have been put together in a classroom @ the end part of the film especially ( yes I kept my eyes open until then ) when the space ship was landing wow that blew my mind 🤣🤣🤣🤣 still what can you expect for a film which was made before I was born ! Just 🤣💯💯

For SciFi fans this is a classic
This is one of the classic 1950s SciFis. The concept of a collision between Earth an extraterrestrial object was quite prescient for it's times, bearing in mind the seriousness with which governments and scientists are considering possible asteroid impact. The concept (and this is not a spoiler) that a suitable terra like planet could provide a new genesis is doubtful but not impossible, considering the almost daily discovery of extrasolar planets. Making allowance for the lack of cgi at the time the film was made, it stands the test of time as a classic. Patrick ClearyThis is one of the classic 1950s SciFis.
