Stanley Kubrick Special Edition 10 Disc Box Set
A Superb collection of some of Kubrick's later films along with support discs detailing the making of the features in this series. 2001 A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut, The Shining, and Full Metal Jacket. also Stanley Kubrick's own story about his life in pictures. When I was a Cinema Projectionist there was a belief in the Industry that no cinema ever failed to get bums on seats screening his films. Barry Lyndon would have made a great addition to this set but somehow missed out. I recommend this collection to everyone, great entertainment and a must for movie buffs. Brilliant Box Set.
I bought this super box set just for The Shining and Full Metal Jacket alone. FMJ is my all-time favourite off the wall war film that was shot almost exclusively in an old-gas works site off the River Thames in London - just brilliant sets and acting. The Shining is now of course a cult film and the axe-through the door scene is brilliantly mad!
