I am learning a great deal that I've never known, Dr. Gundry makes it fairly easy to understand his concept on how our cells work and communicate. Always interested in improving my health and lessening the chances of getting every ailment out there.

My husband has lost 10 pounds in two weeks. I have only lost three. I hope it continues to work for him. I may have to cut out night shades as recommended in his follow on book. I haven’t read the next one, so not sure exactly what to do. I gave three stars because I hoped to see the first two weeks work a little faster for me, but I only need to lose 20 whereas Hubby needs to lose 50. I may need to just take it one pound at a time.

This is a short read book that explains the causes of poor health and obesity in our country. Following his suggestions I have lost 7 lbs. in 10 days, and I started out with normal weight and BMI. I do not consider this a diet book because it is based on science and explains how evolution has changed our diets therefore our bodies over thousands of years. It is well worth the read if you want to remain healthy through your entire life.

My doctor suggested the book. I bought it and started reading immediately. The book is really a lifestyle change not a diet. Some of the suggestions are very drastic, while others (from what I have read so far) make really good sense. I have skipped around, although it does suggest to read the whole book before starting the changes and thus, when I read the book completely I will start the changes. I am keeping a journal so that I can review what I eat and start to keep track of realizing that some foods are really unhealthy. That way, when I start this book and the changes in my lifestyle, it will not be such a shock. At one time I was quasi vegan (and felt the best I have ever felt), and I feel that this lifestyle or evolution is very much the same thing. I actually look forward to these changes and it is the first time I welcomed a healthy lifestyle, rather than loathe it.Read full review
My doctor recommended this book to me to help me lose weight and reduce medicines I'm taking. After the first two weeks of diet "reprograming", I've continued to shed about two pounds a month average over the last 15 months. I've also reduced by half, or no longer need, my blood pressure and several other meds. I have become more active as I lose weight. The book guides and explains benefits of selective diet choices and Do's and Don'ts in a well structured flow. It provided motivative reasoning and education on common questions I had read on-line about. Not a miracle cure book, it offers basic explanations to help most people who need help with an at-home diet plan to understand and control dietary carbs. It's vegetable-diet information is well written and supports the overall guidance for reducing body weight. I've purchased several other copies of this book for family members and friends. On my last visit, my doctor told me that she "refreshes" her weight control regime with guidance in this book. I recommend this book for young and old.Read full review
