I've always used shaving cream and razor to shave. I tried different electric ones I over my lifetime but didn't like the results. A friend told me about how well the Braum Razor shaved so I decided to give one more a try. I was amazed how close it shaved and the little time it took to get that close shave. Gave my shaving cream to my Daughter and will never go back to shaving cream and razor. They have gone up so much in price so they make the Braum a big money saver also. Jerry

Same old thing, but now keep on paying for lub and cleaning cartridges so You do not know If You are shaving or printing your face. I Use to love Braun shavers, but now they want a lot of money more from me. They are moving out of fair bussiness. There is no protective cap also. Just think it twice before buying Braun shavers again.

I have used Gillette Sensor 3 razors for several years, and I like the close shave I get with them. I have tried some of Gillette's "improved" models, but the Sensor 3 is my preferred razor. However, they do get rather expensive, and they do cut me after I have used them a few times. So, I decided to try an electric razor again. I used a Norelco rotary several years ago with decent results (from what I can remember), but I still prefer the closeness of a blade. I read several stellar reviews of this Braun Series 5 590cc razor, and I decided to give it a try. I have a coarse beard that grows fairly fast, and I must shave in several different directions even with a blade to get a truly close shave. With that said, this razor simply cannot meet my standard of a close shave. The shaver feels very well made, it is comfortable in my hand, informative LED indicators, easy to use. However, it is more like mowing my face than shaving it. I can feel stubble even right after shaving, and by lunch, it looks and feels like I did not shave. Braun recommends giving your beard six weeks to adjust to the shaver, which I have done, and I still cannot get what I consider to be a close shave even on the flatter areas of my face. I really want to like this razor so much that I find myself trying to adjust my standards, but it just does not provide what I consider to be a close shave. I have not used any other electric shaver in several years, so I cannot offer a comparison to other products.Read full review
Replaced an old Braun 2000 which I have used for more years than I can remember. I even had it re-batteried two times. The 590 shaves better overall. I like it very much. The only negative that I have observed is battery life is pretty poor. The old 2000 would shave for 9-10 days before slowing down noticeably. The 590 is lucky to get 5 shaves before dying totally. Overall OK, just not great. Jerry
Braun has always being my favorite shaver. This series 5 gives me that smoth shave I look for without any irritation. And maintenance is easy, just love the whole package it offers.
