Mark Knopfler's memorable movie music.
The main theme captures extremely well the contrast between hope and despair that runs throughout the film. The melody is so moving that you just want to play it again and again. Of course some tracks are better listened to while watching the actual movie,as they are for creating suspense during the darker scenes but there are at least half here that can be enjoyed purely on their own. I thought I would try this after enjoying three other soundtrack albums from Mark Knopfler, Local Hero, Cal and The Princess Bride, Last Exit To Brooklyn is far more orchestral in style, sounding almost like classical music at times. There are other genres represented too, which demonstrates how versatile Mark Knopfler can be, he really does have the magic touch, whatever he turns his hand to. I hope you ...
