    Uninspiring British recipes in the view of this American

    This book didn't work for me. The author is British, and many recipes use ingredients that are not common in the US. I also find the author'd instructions to be unnecessarily long and fussy. I doubt I'll keep this book. I recommend Henry Creel's 1970s book "Cooking for One is Fun" as a superior alternative to Smith's book.
