Bought this for an elderly woman for the ease of using it. However, it does not pull in one AM station where she lives outside of Boston. I know there is a lot of interference in her assisted living facility, but this is ridiculous. This radio just doesn't work. The sound quality is good, but the main reason for purchase was to listen to Boston's talk shows. FM is good but she does not want to listen to music. There are a few public radio stations on FM, but she misses her AM Boston channel (WBZ). How sad. A waste of a radio and expensive for two talk channels on FM. I would have been better off buying something much cheaper at Walmart. Again, very disappointed in reception quality. There isn't one AM channel that comes in.

This radio sounds as good to me as any Bose radio I have heard at a much lower price. Matches any decor being a clean white. Reception is exceptional, I pick up every station I listen to crystal clear. Am using just batteries and they have not ran down at all as of yet. This radio is excellent at picking up am stations, especially at night with excellent sensitivity and selectivity. The fm section is just as good delivering really good sound for such a small package! The only thing that would help it is bass and treble adjustments like the next model up- prd-15.

Great radio for the money, big sound for a small package, looks nice in my kitchen. The reception is good but I have an AIWA book shelf radio that uses an AM loop antenna and the reception is about the same. I like the radio but do not buy it just because of the expectation of miracle AM reception improvement over another radio set.
