About this product

Product Information

This brilliantly coloured tale of the French Revolution is an historical romance set in Paris and London. Famous for the character of Sidney Carton who sacrifices himself upon the guillotine' it is a far, far better thing I do than I have ever done '- the novel is also a powerful study of crowd psychology and the dark emotions aroused by the Revolution, illuminated by Dickens' lively comedy

  • Not exactly as illustrated

I was happy to receive the book, which has been part of my life for decades. For this reason I wanted a good hardback copy, and I like the newish Everyman series. My main criticism is that the cover was not illustrated as in the photograph. However, the price was cheap and good value for money.

  • beautiful quality book

I ordered and paid for a "used" book. I am certain the book I received is actually brand new. Lots of interesting details in the book as well as the story itself.
