About this product

Product Information

This is the biography of World War II secret agent, Wing Commander Tommy Yeo-Thomas. The book is a study of the nature of heroism and the reality of fighting behind enemy lines. Yeo-Thomas's work in Occupied France, where he worked alongside the French Resistance, won him the MC and the George Cross, but he was eventually betrayed. He survived torture - ultimately in Buchenwald - but never revealed his secrets to the Nazis.

  • Couldn't put it down!

If this was a book of fiction, you would say it was far fetched - something Hollywood would choose to make into a glossy film. Knowing it's a true story is humbling. Absolutely worth reading, if only to appreciate how over-used the word 'hero' is nowadays.....

  • An important addition to any library

Brilliant book, amazing story and its true. I belong to the Baker Street Boys SOE re-enactment group, this is an invaluable piece of historical reference and very close to home as part of it is set in my home town. Its a tribute to the risks these people took to keep our freedom.
