Bird by Bird is brilliant
This is the most honest and down to earth book about writing that I have ever read and having read it think I will never read another one. I've come to realize Bird by Bird is not as important for showing you specific exercises or methods but because it helps you achieve a necessary state of mind you need if you want to pursue the writing and publishing of books. It's a good book, specially if you read it after or before other writing books.
