If you get the rust off properly and then use multiple coats of Bonda before going to primer and top coat, the rust just stays away from years. I had classics known for rusting badly like MGB roadsters or a triumph TR7 ‘s that came back after five years for accident repairs etc and known rust spots behind outer panels would still be perfect. If you use over blast cleaned parts it’s even better. Getting hard to find but worth the cost.

Just treat the steel with Jenolite Rust Treatment and coat with Bonda Primer abd then refinish. It will never rust and I have cars restored over 40 years ago to prove it. Not a spot of rust has ever shown through.
