I'm 63 and have never watched the Godfather as when I was younger this type of film didn't appeal to me .Now I'm older my tastes have changed this trilogy is one of the most entertaining thrilling and exciting I have seen ,such great acting by the Masters of the screen well directed as it draws you into the film and it's beleavable characters .I'm so glad I've waited to see this as these films are very few .A bargain price for hours of sheer entertainment from start to finish .I'm 63 and have never watched the Godfather as when I was younger this type of film didn't appeal to me .Now I'm older my tastes have changed this trilogy is one of the most entertaining thrilling and exciting I have seen ,such great acting by the Masters of the screen well directed as it draws you into the film and it's beleavable characters .I'm so glad I've waited to see this as these films are very few .A bargain price for hours of sheer entertainment from start to finish .

Haven't seen this in 20 years.
And its not as good as I remember! Well we've had Goodfellas, Heat, etc, etc, since. The editing leaves a lot to decide upon, especially in GF II. There are holes in the storyline with some repetitions and what I consider to be jump cuts, if you watch it twice from start to finish over two days as I have. Well in its day it was tops, but we all have 'movie' cameras in our phones now and hopefully have learnt how to be more critical.And its not as good as I remember! Well worth watching again!
Forgot how much we enjoyed these stories years ago and was so fed up of rubbish and/or repeats on TV is this lockdown that I bought the DVDs. Good decision. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed it.

A true milestone in cinematic history that spawned many attempts to copy the genre and despite the accolades awarded to part 2 My favourite will always be part one ...but I only tolerated Pacino

The Godfather Trilogy (DVD 2001)
The Godfather films, especially the first and second, have been amongst my favourite films of all time. The decisions to cast relative unknowns at the time like Al Pacino and then to persevere against all odds to get Marlon Brando to play the lead role were inspired. The stories, which are centered on the dynamics of a family, which just happens to be in the Mafia business, are gripping, absorbing and emotional. The technical differences between my old VHS version of the trilogy and the new DVD version are amazing - crystal clear images, great sound and, at last, widescreen. All-in-all, one of the best DVD packages you can buy.The Godfather films, especially the first and second, have been amongst my favourite films of all time.
