    Well made

    I have two other type Shinwa Squares and they are all excellent. I like that this one transfers the pencil line from the side to the top of the stock I am laying out. It will be very useful in my woodworking studio. This square is aluminum whereas my other two Shinwa squares are stainless steel but that is no matter. Its a well made and excellent product.

    Precision build quality

    I bought this as I have had 4 speed squares which were not accurate from different manufacturers. I have always know Japanese tools to be excellent quality and to be precision made tools and I don't know why I didn't just buy 1 in the first place. This 1 was the cheapest aluminium marking tool which is Japanese on eBay and it only took a couple of weeks to arrive. Buy 1 and it will save you a lot of time and money that you will waste buying the other western type tool that I use to buy, never again only Japanese tools for me from now on and you don't have to go to the expensive 1s either as they are all made brilliantly.

    Shinwa Japanese Saddle Layout Square

    Been woodworking for over 60 yrs but only recently discovered saddle squares. After 2 attempts at making my own I broke down and bought one of these. Really glad I did. Real asset to my tools and speeds up layout. A real tool, not a gimmick. Highly recommend taking a look at one if you do any amount of woodworking.

    Very useful

    This is a great layout tool. On caveat: I wanted to use it for a bit of timber framing. While it's not made for big timbers, it helps bring those lines around. It feels a bit fragile though for job site work. It not durable like a framing or speed square. It's more of a precision instrument. I really like it.
