    Old favorite, but as fresh as ever

    Mr. Demme left us far too soon. This comic gem, from 37 years ago (!), yielded two Oscar wins and revealed an already accomplished director. We were blessed to have such a talent in the rough-and-tumble world of films.

    Steenburgen shines bright in this funny

    It told Melvin DuMar's story in a humorous way. Once again as usual nudity is irrelevant to the story line and is unnecessary. Mary Steenburgen is the real star of this film. DVD played with no problems.

    It's a long way to Philadelphia

    It's a long way to Philadelphia. I bought this movie because it was so acclaimed and it was done by Demme, artist of masterpiece, Philadelphia. Except as a the early exercise in his quest toward superior filmmaking, it doesn't resemble the compelling story, conclusion or ride that Philadelphia did.
