The video capture device works fine with free OBS software, although I haven't tested it fully - but as yet, I've not managed to get it to record from the HDMI cable feed from my set-top box, which I was hoping it would do, though I'm unsure if that's due to the box still transmitting encrypted files and the software not able to deal with that.

Captures video/audio just fine (at least for my use-case which is streaming a work meeting) . The capture device is quite wide so might benefit from a USB extension lead if your USB ports are closely packed together (like on a laptop).
