I bought the book for my 8 year old Grand Daughter. She'l get for Christmas. I looked through the recipes they look very easy for a child to follow, the pictures and instructions are just right for a child or adult.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
THIS BOOK HAS COMPLICATED, GOURMET RECIPES. IN MY OPINION, IT IS NOT FOR PRETEENS OR EVEN YOUNG TEENS BEGINING TO COOK. MOST OF THE RECIPES ARE MADE ENTIRELY FROM SCRATCH WITH SOME INGREDIENTS THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE PURCHASED ESPECIALLY FOR THE RECIPE. I FEEL THAT THE RECIPES ARE NOT FOR FOODS THAT KIDS WOULD NORMALLY LIKE. ON THE OTHER HAND, IF YOU WANT A MORE GOURMET COOKBOOK, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU.
The only thing I did not like about this book, was that I did not realize or see anywhere when I bought the book, that it was a paperback and not a hard back. Otherwise I loved the book
The book came on time as was in the condition we expected. However, the cookbook itself is not exactly what I was hoping for for my daughter. What I have found that I prefer basic adult cook books instead of childrens books as they have more variety and go beyond sanwhiches and eggs.
I think kids should learn to cook at an early age. That gets them ready for when they live on there own. And more boys are cooking these days. I like the book it is easy to follow.
