Original "The Stand" overall good.
Picture seemed to indicate that the dust jacket was with the book, but I did not receive the DJ. It's listed as a first edition but it's the 14th printing, which I probably would have bought anyway because I replaced my lost original, I just would have liked to know this ahead of time. All things considered, the book was in good overall condition for a book from 1978. The missing DJ is what kept this from being 5 stars. I am absolutely thrilled with the condition of this book. It is definitely as described. I thought since it was packed away for so long it would have a musty smell but no, I was thrilled. I have the whole collection of Stephen King Hardcover books now. This is the last one I was waiting for and it took me a long time to find one in this condition. It didn't have to be a first edition but I am glad now that it is since it is my favorite book by Stephen King. So I thank you so very, very much. I can't wait to read it again. You have made someone who is going to be going through a lot of surgeries very soon, very happy. I am still trying to think if that is one I want to take with me to the hospital since I will be out of it most of the time. I will be very mad if someone walked away with ... The perfect book for those of us who remember the original "The Stand" by Stephen King. He later rereleased it with a lot more content, but I wanted to re-read the original. I've enjoyed it very much!! Thank you!

Classic story of good and evil. I grabs ahold of you right away! Hard to put down. First time Stephen King reader this is diffently a great book to start.
