Excellent full frame fisheye for full frame cameras...

This thing is razor sharp. Lower apertures give some vignetting, but that can easily be corrected via lens profiles in Photoshop. In fact, most of the distortion can be removed as well. I was hoping this would serve as a good substitute for a super wide angle lens, and I was correct. Distortion can get to be a bit much towards the outer edges, and correction does snip some from both sides of the image, but it's a great compromise for the price and quality of this lens. Nothing but great things to say about Sigma lenses in general. I will definitely purchase others.

    Great lens cheap accessories..

The lens itself is a great lens but the accessory kit is cheap junk that was falling apart as I pulled some of it out of the box.. DO NOT WASTE THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THIS BUNDLE. Just get the lens by itself and save yourself some money. a

  • Sigma 15mm F/2.8 EX non-DG for Canon

For the relatively low cost and the rare application, this puppy does more than the job. Images are sharp for most of the shots. Wide open at F/2.8, center is already very sharp with great corners. Stepped down to above F/4 or more, and you'll be amazed that something with a 180 degree view can have such good all around sharpness. Some users might say that at 15mm, a large aperture isn't quite necessary. I think it's an added bonus since not only can you shoot at a lowly 1/15th of a second (the usual hand held rough guideline), you get F/2.8. The only gripe I have with this lens is, like many users, the funky hood and the slow focusing. The lining in the hood deteriorates with time and makes the cup of a hood hard to use. (I removed the gummy lining and squashed the barrle part of ...

  • Sharp given the nature of fisheye lenses, very lightweight and sturdy.

Actually I purchased this lens with a Sony mount however I am certain the optics are the same for Canon. I recently sold a Sigma 15mm f/2.8 lens with a Nikon mount. I really liked that lens and tried to find a company to re-fit it for my Sony alpha 900 and there was no one (including Sigma) that could do it. This current version is little changed from the one I purchased in 2001. It is very lightweight, solidly built and given the extremely radical nature of fisheye lenses I feel it has very fine sharpness and color rendition. The autofocus is quick however I usually use manual focus with such lenses however if you are shooting in dim light the AF is essential to use. For the price there is no equivalent lens made by any manufacturer and Sigma seems to specialize in wide angles. I have ...

  • A great little lens

Glad to have this lens in the tool box. Has a nice heft and is not cheaply built. Sigma is the only choice if you are looking for a suitable Canon replacement that won't break the bank.
