Fresh from the arcades, Peter Pepper is once again trying to make burgers in his kitchen, this time on the TI-99/4A home computer. BurgerTime puts you in the role of the alliterative chef as he parades along platforms and strolls up stairs, walking over burger parts (buns, patties, lettuce and cheese) to make them plunge to platforms below. Ultimately, you must pile the parts on four plates at the bottom of the playfield, effectively producing four cheeseburgers.<br><br>As you go about your burger-building business, edible enemies endemic to your health follow you around, trying to prevent your progress. If you come in contact with a hot dog, pickle or egg, you will lose a life. To vanquish the villains, you can douse them with a dash of pepper or trap them on or between a burger part(s) while you are dropping it. You can pack extra pepper and points by picking up snacks (ice cream cones and coffee cups) that you'll find periodically perched among the platforms. <br><br>After constructing four cheeseburgers, you will advance to the next increasingly difficult level of play. There are six different screens in all, each with a different pattern of platforms, pathways and stairways. The game lasts until you lose all your lives.
