    Quality OK, but expensive

    This ALKO top and back pad set fits perfectly and seem to be made of good quality plastic, but only time will tell. The previous top pad broke for no obvious reason, so I hope this one will last longer. Instructions are good and fitting is straightforward providing the instructions are followed. But the main reason for only three stars is the price - at £30 for two small plastic mouldings and a couple of screws this seems very expensive. There are non ALKO look-a-like versions available from about half the price, but not having enough information about them led to me spending the extra. If the part fails, the hitch can get jammed on the tow ball, which is not a great situation to deal with.

    Easy to fit

    These are very easy to fit but very very expensive for what they are. Unfortunately could not find them cheaper. Still it keeps the van safe whilst towing.

    Expensive but essential

    The original friction pads became very contaminated with grease from the tow hitch shock absorber. The grease had melted in temperatures of 40C+ when towing in the South of France. Cleaning the pads proved to be unsuccessful leaving no choice but to buy a new set. Replacing the friction pads is very straightforward as long as you push up the button which indicates the amount of pad wear when removing and replacing the front pad.

    Poor quality

    This is the third set of friction pads purchased as the previous ones have shattered when removing the tow car, nver had the issue on the BPW hitch on all previous caravans
