  • Very similar to the Nikkor lens in all areas except this lens does not have vibration reduction.

    This is a very solid lens, both in performance and construction. I would almost go out on a limb and say it feels like it is more well made then Nikon's own 18-200mm lens. If you are on the fence about getting one of these and vibration reduction is not a concern then by all means grab this opportunity, you will not be let down. Image quality is just as good as Nikkor. The fit and finish is amazing considering the over all cost this lens is. The 18-200mm lens with VRII from Nikkor is $650 new, This Tamron lens was $150 new, that for the mathematically impaired is a $500 difference. I am not sure VRII (vibration Reduction 2) is worth that difference, especially when the time it is most beneficial is when you use the zoom and really zoom in on something.
