An excellent source of instruction for Yoga for kids. The author has successfully combined shades of spirituality with playfulness in such a way that children could imbibe the best of Yoga without feeling weighed down with too much seriousness. Children need to move and be playful and this can be found in the poses. At the same time, the author has emphasized the importance of breath and awareness. All in all, the stack of cards are all-comprehensive, combining all aspects of Yoga, yet geared towards children overall well-being. Many thanks.
As an OT working in a public school system I own several sets of yoga cards. I like this set because the activities are color coded so I can quickly work on an area of focus or choose one or more cards from the various colors to create a routine. I especially like the fact that these cards have a simple human drawing. The simplicity of the cards is easily understood by my lowest and/or youngest groups of students but are also appropriate for my high school students. This is an excellent set at an excellent price.
The quality of the deck cards is great. They will last a long time and a lot of little fingers. The cards have many great kids yoga poses that are easy to follow. The deck also contain ideas on how to use them. The are easy enough to be used by kids alone. I'll recommend it to any parent or educator that works with kids.
I bought these cards because my 5-year-old twin granddaughters were coming to visit and I've taught them a few yoga positions. I bought them yoga kits and wanted to expand the positions they learn. We had a great time looking at the cards, learning the names of the positions and trying to imitate the picture on the card. I recommend these cards to anyone who wants to teach yoga to their children or grandchildren.
