    Celestron beginners microscope

    With the name Celestron I was expecting a better quality instrument. Instead it is a very lightweight piece of equipment. Not very robust. II have seen the same quality of instrument at about half the cost. This appears to be a very cheap product with a sticker on it giving it the “ Celestron “ name.

    Not bad, but needs a 12 to 14 year old.

    I bought this for a 10 year-old grandson, unaware from the on-line information that it was recommended for 14yrs old and up. It did require a little more attention to detail than an otherwise sensible 10 year old could provide and the focussing was "Sticky". Have put it aside until he gets older, but wish the promotional material had been more revealing. Having said that, with the right age group its not bad value for money.

    Everything needed for a novice scientist.

    Great instrument to get started on. Recommended for 14 year olds but my 9 year old grandson managed just fine. For him it was a new view on life.
